STRIDE STAFF CLUB (KKSTRIDE)

HISTORY OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CLUB
The Staff Club of the Defense Science and Technology Research Institute (KKSTRIDE) was established to create a close relationship between the staff and then share welfare matters with each other. Reflecting back on the history of the establishment of a staff club around the 70s, STRIDE, which was then known as the Defense Research Center, has begun to receive a number of new staff since it was established in 1967. As the staff became more numerous, some social and sports activities began to be thought necessary to be implemented as a welfare requirement. A technician started a progressive move around 1977 by mobilizing to create a staff club with the objective of creating harmonious relationships outside of office hours between staff. The technician in question is Tn. Mr. Abd Ghani bin Mohd Nor, Metallurgical Laboratory Technician, Defense Research Center (DRC). Mr. Chew Ern Sin was elected as the first Chairman of the Staff Club. From 1977 until 2017, the age of the club has reached its 47th year. Such a mature age proves that the existence of this staff club has successfully achieved the objective of its establishment. The new KKSTRIDE committee for the 2023/2025 session was elected during the 6th General Meeting held on 10 April 2023. Ts. Kamarulzaman bin Mustapa has been elected to lead KKSTRIDE for the 2023/2025 session.
